Aug 10, 2015·XSleeper. Personally, I won't buy a brad nailer that won't shoot 2" nails. Yours should be fine for nailing quarter round to the baseboard (or floor). Depending on how thick your baseboard is, a 1 5/8" nail may not be quite long enough. Either that or you're missing the studs.
